Review: Is the MoonSwatch Cold Moon the Prettiest of 2025?

Picture a Speedmaster in glacier white, with laser-engraved snowflakes — each one unique — and two Moonshine Gold moons that glow in the dark. That's the Cold Moon: the most magical MoonSwatch of 2025. Launched alongside the black Beaver Moon, it vanished from stores in hours. Why I fell for it (and not the Beaver Moon)

When both models dropped, I hesitated for 48 hours. It's ultra-light, hugely comfortable, adjusts to the millimetre and dries in seconds after rain — but the white marks quickly (jeans, jacket leather), the Velcro attracts lint, and it reads a touch casual for a shirt. My fix from day three: a 20mm FKM MoonSwatch rubber strap — glacier blue with white stitching to match the hands, black with blue stitching for a soberer winter look, and pure white for next summer. The watch goes from "sneakers" to "open shirt and blazer" in ten seconds. Swapping with a spring bar tool took me two minutes, guided by the how-to video.

Why this edition is genuinely special

Of every MoonSwatch Moonphase released so far, the Cold Moon is the one that struck me most — and I'm clearly not alone. Its name references December's full moon, the coldest and highest of the year in the northern hemisphere, and Swatch nailed that wintry mood: a slightly pearlescent white Bioceramic case, glacier-blue hands and indices, and an opaline dial that catches the light like fresh snow. The white Bioceramic case is 42mm but slim (13mm thick) and feather-light at 36g without a strap. The silvered opaline dial has a hypnotic sunburst effect; the green Super-LumiNova on the indices, hands and both moons is among the best-glowing MoonSwatch (visible six to seven hours). Because each snowflake is randomly laser-engraved, no two Cold Moons are 100% identical.

Comfort and daily use

On a 17.5cm wrist it sits perfectly, and I wear it 12–16 hours a day — commute, evenings out, sporty weekends (rain and sweat fine, no swimming). No red marks, no discomfort, and the Bioceramic stays warm even at −5°C. The quartz chronograph keeps around ±10 seconds a month, the decorative moonphase advances every couple of days (a ten-second correction), and after two months there isn't a single visible scratch on the white case.

Cold Moon vs Beaver Moon vs Snoopy

At €310, the Cold Moon (white, unique snowflakes, blue hands) is my clear winner — brighter, more original, more versatile. The €310 Beaver Moon (black, red hands) is a close, slightly soberer second, while the Snoopy Moonphase (white, Snoopy case back, limited) is stunning but pricier at €450+. For everyday wear, the Cold Moon takes it.

My verdict after two months
